THE WORMLING
by Jerry B. Jenkins and Chris Fabry
Owen Reeder never expected his life to be so dramatically changed by reading a book. As the son of a used bookstore owner, Owen has been devouring books and instantly committing to memory everything he has read for as long as he can remember. Until now, Owen’s life has consisted of living out battles and fantasies solely through the stories he consumes. But when a mysterious stranger offers to sell Owen a special book, his entire life changes.
He is thrust into a new world where a Dragon is hunting him, where dangerous creatures stalk his every move, where magic is commonplace and even animals can talk. Owen’s life is now defined by fulfilling a single quest: to find the King’s Son. He makes friends with the most unlikely creatures, and together they battle for the King using the Book as their guide and weapon against both invisible and visible foes. As he learns to develop his strength and skills, Owen hones another kind of power as well. He becomes a warrior of faith, obeying and acting upon the words written in the Book.
Owen quickly realizes that not everything that exists in the physical realm is to be trusted, and he has to develop a keen discernment between good and evil. His quest --- and his life --- depends upon it.
