ALEX RIDER Series
by Anthony Horowitz

Characters

Alex Rider --- a fourteen-year-old boy whose life is turned completely upside down when his uncle is killed. The secrets he learns about Ian Rider and how he earned a living result in Alex becoming a member of MI6, a British intelligence agency, where his determination and courage is put to the ultimate test.

Jack Starbright --- an American girl who came to London as a law student and rented a room in Alex and Ian's house. She not only becomes their housekeeper but also Alex's closest companion.

Alan Blunt --- chief executive of the Special Operations Division of MI6. He is described as having a gray suit, gray hair, gray eyes and gray lips. His face is almost always without expression and he shows little emotional attachment to Alex. He is instead focused on making sure that his young spy is fully briefed and prepared for his missions.

Mrs. Jones --- the head of Special Operations at MI6 who gave Ian Rider his last assignment. Although she understands the crucial role that Alex plays in their organization, she is genuinely concerned for his safety and well-being.

John Crawley --- the office manager at MI6. He is in charge of doing paperwork, setting up meetings and making arrangements.

Mr. Smithers --- provides Alex with the supplies he needs for his various assignments. Alex considers Smithers to be one of his best friends because Smithers is always looking out for him and making sure he's safe.

Yassen Gregorovich --- the contract killer hired to murder Ian Rider. This ruthless man was born in Russia but has worked for a number of countries, including Iraq, Serbia, Libya and China.

Herod Sayle --- the inventor of the Stormbreaker, a revolutionary computer with tremendous power and speed. It is his intention to ensure that every secondary school in England has its own Stormbreaker.

The Friend Family --- Alex visits the home of Sir David Friend, his wife Lady Caroline, and their 15 year old daughter Fiona to learn as much about the family as possible for his mission in POINT BLANK. Although Sir David and Lady Caroline are kind and hospitable, Alex can't say the same about Fiona, whom he dislikes the moment they meet.

Dr. Hugo Grief --- the principal of the Academy at Point Blanc, an exclusive school for troubled boys. He is also the coordinator of the Gemini Project, and Alex is determined to learn the details of this top-secret project.

Eva Stellenbosch --- Dr. Grief's assistant. Eva is a muscular woman with a facial structure that isn't quite human. Before arriving at the school, she takes Alex to a Paris hotel, where he is drugged, stripped of his clothes and examined.

Sabina Pleasure --- a ball girl at Wimbledon who befriends Alex in SKELETON KEY. She loves jokes, is a fast runner and is very fit.

General Alexei Sarov --- a commander in the Russian army when the Russians were still part of the Soviet Union. He left Russia when communism ended and has made no secret of the fact that he strongly dislikes the new Russia. He now lives on Skeleton Key, a communist island that belongs to Cuba.

Glen Carver and Belinda Troy --- special agents at MI6 who are assigned to be Alex's parents during their trip to Cayo Esqueleto, where they will be spying on Sarov.

Sir Damian Cray --- the world's richest and most successful pop star whom readers meet for the first time in EAGLE STRIKE. Cray is also involved in a number of highly profitable business ventures. His company, Cray Software Technology, has developed Gameslayer, a revolutionary game system that will supposedly surpass such competitors as PlayStation 2, Nintendo and GameCube in both quality and popularity.

Edward Pleasure --- Sabina's father. Edward, a journalist who is writing an article on Damian Cray, is injured when his rented house in France explodes.

Julia Charlotte Glennis Rothman --- an executive of Scorpia, one of the most ruthless and successful criminal organizations in the world. She is heading a project called Invisible Sword, which will involve killing thousands of schoolchildren in London in an attempt to end the Anglo-American alliance.

Nile --- a graduate of Scorpia's training school and an active member of Mrs. Rothman's terrorist organization. He is described as being clean shaven, elegant, and in perfect physical shape. But the one feature that makes him stand out is the strange white blotches that cover one side of his face.

Tom Harris --- Alex Rider's best friend. A lot of the children at their school and most of the teachers don't think Tom is too bright, but he doesn't care. Tom always manages to be cheerful and is fun to be around. When he learns about Alex's double life, Tom continues to support and encourage him rather than abandon him.

Jerry Harris --- Tom's older brother who is teaching English as a foreign language in Naples. He helps Alex gain entry into Consanto Enterprises, a major pharmaceutical company that Alex wants to learn more about.

Nikolai Drevin --- a Russian multibillionaire who is working with the British government on the building of Ark Angel, the first luxury hotel in outer space.

Kaspar --- the commanding officer of Force Three, a terrorist organization that claims to be fighting to protect the earth from the evils of pollution. Kaspar and his cohorts are now targeting Nikolai Drevin because they believe his Ark Angel project is a danger to the environment.

Paul Drevin --- Nikolai's son is an only child who is homeschooled and has no real life. His relationship with his father is rocky and he rarely hangs out with kids his own age, which is why he's thrilled when Alex decides to spend two weeks at the Drevin estate.

Combat Jacket, Spectacles, Steel Watch, and Silver Tooth --- the members of Force Three who botch the planned kidnapping of Paul Drevin and are determined to make Alex pay for making them look like fools.

Tamara Knight --- Nikolai Drevin's personal assistant. Alex is struck by her youthful looks and the fact that she rarely smiles when they see each other.

Major Winston Yu --- the mastermind behind a huge criminal network that goes by the name of shetou (or, in English, snakehead) --- a gang involved in illegally obtaining money from various sources, including drugs. He works with Scorpia to smuggle Royal Blue, a unique bomb, for their new operation.

Mr. Anan Sukit --- the snakehead lieutenant who lures Alex into a dire situation involving Muay Thai, one of the most aggressive and dangerous martial arts in the world.

Ethan Brooke --- a blind man who works for the Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS). He asks Alex to consider being involved in a mission for them that will focus on uncovering information concerning the snakeheads.

Ash --- John Rider’s best friend and Alex’s godfather. A former MI6 operative, he has been assigned by ASIS to pose as an Afghan refugee who is being smuggled into Australia by the snakeheads. Alex tags along with him, assuming the role of his son.

Mrs. Webber --- a “specialist in disguise” for ASIS who helps Alex and Ash look more like the Afghans they are portraying in Bangkok.
