A NOTE FROM BOOKER

Hello!

My best friend Book Mark just got back from vacation with his family. He brought his children over to my house earlier to tell me about the trip they took. They went on a long car trip that allowed them to see all kinds of neat places.

One place they went was a special zoo where they could drive their car through big fields of wild animals. Book Mark told me that a giraffe came right up to his car window! His son, Little Words, saw a real tiger sleeping under a bush, and his daughter, Big Words, saw a pack of wolves roaming across the fields to get water from then lake. They took a lot of pictures, and I can hardly wait to see them. They had to make sure they kept the windows closed and the car locked, so that the animals could not hurt them. Little Words said that he and his sister pretended they were explorers going through Africa looking for wild animals. When the kids were telling me about the wild animal park, I was reminded of a great book titled Good Morning Gorillas about two children who went to Africa and tried to rescue a band of gorillas. As soon as I mentioned that book, both of the children begged me to find a copy of the book for them. They wanted to read it right away. I went through my bookshelves, and finally found my copy of the book. It is a part of The Magic Treehouse series, which is a favorite with a lot of the worm kids here.

Have you been on a vacation? I'd love to hear about it. Book Mark packed a lot of books in the car for his children to read while they were driving. He likes to get books that will tell them about the places they will visit while on their trips. He also likes to get books o tape so that they can all listen to the books being read aloud. That way, the whole family can enjoy the stories. If you'd like to read some reviews of our favorite books on tape, click on these underlined blue words: Kidsreads.com - Audiobooks.
