A NOTE FROM BOOKER

Hello!

Have you ever worked at a job to earn money? When I was a small worm, my sister named Faye Belle and I would set up a lemonade stand on the corner on a hot summer day. We had a large supply of books and pillows we set in the yard under the shade trees. Worms could come by, buy a glass of fresh lemonade, and sit in the shade to read while they drank it. I had forgotten about this until my neighbor, named Rapid Reader, asked me for some ideas he could do to raise some money. He wants to earn enough money to buy all the Harry Potter books. He said he might try my lemonade stand idea, but he wanted other ideas, too.

I did a little searching, and I was able to find some books he can read that might help him get some super money making and money saving ideas. Rapid Reader said he was going to go to the library to check them out this weekend. If you want to get ideas on making and saving money, you can read the book reviews in our Money Making Ideas for Kids section to see if any of these books could help you out. If you have some good ideas, you can write back to me. I'll pass them along to my neighbor. He would love to hear ideas from my mail friends. He really wants to own all the Harry Potter books, as they are his favorite books in the world.

Hey Booker.  I just finished reading a great book called Homecoming by Cynthia Voigt.  It is a book about 4 kids who have to travel alone.  Their father left them when theyoldest was 6. shes now 13.  There mother left them in a parking lot.  Then they had to try to find a home where they would be loved.  There is even a sequel!

JUST TO SAY SOMETHING TO WHOEVER WROTE ABOUT ME (THE GIRL FROM ASIA, WHO LIKES HARRY POTTER, SWEET VALLEY, BABY-SITTERS CLUB, AND THE FACE ON THE MILK CARTON):
I'm glad you took notice of my MAILBAG THING. Was it interesting to read the Face on the Milk Carton with the whole class? Or was it uncomfortable? My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I'd have to say, Harry Potter books are my favorite! --Age12

*****

TO WHOEVER LOVES HARRY POTTER: (ALMOST EVERYONE) You should really get the book called "You're the Best, Harry Potter!" You'll love it! It has opinions and advice from other kids all over the world. You can learn about what the other kids think, with illustration. And then, YOU can write to them with YOUR opinions about Harry Potter! So buy it!
