A
NOTE FROM BOOKER
Hello!
This afternoon
it is sleeting outside. That is really bad weather to go out in,
so I am going to spend the rest of the afternoon finishing a great
book my next door neighbor suggested I try. His class is studying
the Civil War. As part of their studies, they are reading books
about people who lived back in those times. He chose to read a book
about spies in the Civil War. My neighbor, Text Reader, loves to
read books with suspense, and he thought reading one about spies
would be a great one to try. Being a spy can be a very dangerous
job for anyone, but the book he chose was about two women being
spies, not men! Back then, most women didn't participate in wars
and dangerous missions. However, in his book, the two women worked
together to help people on the Union side of the war to win. As
soon as he finished it, he made a report about it to his class.
Then he brought it over for me to read. I started it last night,
and now I can hardly wait to finish it this afternoon. If you like
drama, and true stories about people who helped make our country
a great one, I suggest you try this book, too! Text Reader was right
to let me read it. To read more about this book, click here.
Now, on to
more news for this week...

Reviews
THE HIDDEN
ARROW OF MAETHER
THE HIDDEN ARROW OF MAETHER
is a book of courage, faith, and high purpose, with a dash of romance
tossed in. You will enjoy the imaginative world the author creates,
and you'll want to read about Linnet's quests as she fights for
the Great One.
DREAM FREEDOM
DREAM FREEDOM is a story
inspired by actual events. It focuses on the very serious issue
of human slavery, which, believe it or not, exists in modern-day
Africa. The book offers viewpoints from both sides, weaving back
and forth between stories of enslaved Dinkas in the Sudan and the
reactions of American children who learn of the Africans' plight
and are determined to help them. .

Love From The
Heart
Love is life,
life is hard,
hard is solid,
and solid is I.
If I am solid,
you are too.
But solid things
are not ment
to be broken.
Because if we
are
we cry and sorrow
and only remember
he one who had left
you behind.

If you are at a pre teen reading level Caroline B. Coonie is the
best author to read! She makes murder books, mysteries, fantasy,
most of her books have a combination of all of the (I've only read
three of her books, they are Mummy, Both Sides of Time and Wanted!).
Caroline B. Coonie is to good of an author to miss!

I love to read stories, mostly about girls, and love, and mysteries.
My favorite books and series are Goosebumps, Ramona(books about
her), and Boxcar Children, and Sweet Valley Series. I also write
stories. I have about 591 stories on the computer, and I particularly
write about kids, like, middle school-aged kids. I have a series
called Kristy Carver Notebooks. It's mostly about a girl named Kristy
Carver. I hope to become a famous author.

I think that if you want to read a really great book, you shoud
read AFTER THE RAIN. It is an extremely good book about a girl named
Rachel, who's mean and sarcastic grandfather has just been diagnosed
with cancer. Her chore of everyday walks with him turns into the
most important thing in her life. Even more important than her relationship
with her new boyfriend. I think it is a powerful and enhancing story
that you won't be able to put down for more than five minutes! I
rented the book from my school library and I have fallen in love
with it! I hope you find this book, read it, and enjoy it! Keep
warm!!!!

I hope you know that a poem you published in the February 9th newsletter
was copied in a book. It goes something like, "If only, if
only, the woodpecker sighs," and it was copied from "Holes"
by Louis Sachar. I most sincerely hope that I made a mistake, because
plagarism is a crime, and I think that copying o poem from a book
would be considered just that. I just thought that this should be
brought to your attention, and I would appreciate it if you could
send me a letter telling me if I am right or not. If you do not
have the time, please post it in the newsletter at least, because
I think that everyone should know, so the author can be credited
for his work.
>From BookerTWorm: Thanks for notifying us of this oversight.
Yes, it was taken out of the book HOLES by Louis Sachar.

I think it's cool what your doing for young kids on the internet.
I think you should keep handing stuff out on the net for little
kids. You should keep doing what your doing and have fun with helping
kids out with some problems they have and they should be able to
give you comments and questions about what they need to talk about
in a young kids live. Thanks for helping kids out by sending stuff
on the internet. Keep sending and keep building stonger bodies,
and brighter minds for kids.

I really enjoyed this book called Romiette and Julio by Sharon M.
Draper. This book is a younger version of Shakespeare's Romeo and
Juliet. Its talks about how Romiette and Julio fall madly in love
with one another but a local gang disapproves of their relationship
because Romiette is African-American and Julio is Mexican-American.
I recommend for people to read it because its funny and interesting
and love and romance also. The book is for ages 12 and up. Thanks
for reading my email and keep updating me with new books everyday.

My class and I are reading Hatchet! It is about this kid that gets
stuck in the Candain wildness and he has to survive for 53 days.
All he has is a hatchet and every thing around him!! He learns that
self-pity doesn't work!!

When I was younger I hated to read. I'd open a book read one word
& say, "I don't like this book!" One night I got a
Harry Potter book, & I was addicted! My mom saw me reading at
11:00 at night & didn't Evan care because she was glad to see
me reading! So now every time you look at me I'm reading.
