Greetings!
A hearty hello from your friend, Booker T. Worm! (The long
version is Booker Text Worm, but you can call me Booker.)
I am that chubby green worm winding my way around this delectable
website, peering through my spectacles at all the reviews
and books. It is my dream job, since I LOVE books. I love
everything about them: the chapters full of adventure and
trouble and surprises, the brightly colored covers, the smell
of inkunfortunately, I even love the taste of the crunchy
pages. However, I made a New Year's Resolution to stop munching
on books, and I've kept it pretty well. Every so often I can't
resist, and I take just a teensy little nibble---I AM a bookworm,
after all.
My Family and Friends
My dear parents are Page and Turner Worm. Since they are grownup
bookworms, they read fancy books like WAR AND PEACE and ULYSSES.
I have a little sister named Fay Belle. She reads mostly picture
books, like THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR. My best friend is
Book Mark, and my other good friends are Lyle Berry and Chap
Terr III. My favorite teacher is Ms. Teri.
My Favorite Books
Some of my favorite books to read are the Ramona books by
Beverly Cleary, and the Redwall Series by Brian Jacques. I
also love Roald Dahl. My favorite book by him is JAMES AND
THE GIANT PEACH. Can you guess why? (Clue: remember who lives
inside the giant peach?) I also have recently gone crazy ---
like many of you --- over a boy named Harry Potter. Boy, does
he ever have adventures!!!!
School
I enjoyed school, since I like to read so much. My least favorite
subject was math; there are hardly any words, and the plot
isn't very interesting. (Just a little Booker joke.) I was
also not very good at art class, since I have trouble holding
the paint brush.
A Few of My Favorite Things
Other things you might like to know about me: my favorite
color is black (the color of print). Besides paper, my favorite
food is lettuce, especially if it's covered with honey dijon
dressing (I'm a worm of refined tastes). My favorite TV show
is "Reading Rainbow." My favorite movie is "A Bug's Life,"
although I think there really should be more movies about
worms.
A Worm of the Web
I'm a modern sort of worm, and I love hanging out on the Web
(it also keeps me busy and stops me from chomping books).
I do wish they'd change the name of the World Wide Web, however
--- it always reminds me unpleasantly of spiders.
Bye from Booker
Enjoy the site, and come visit me soon! Happy reading!
This Week. . .
I hope you are all getting ready for the holidays. I am shopping
for my family and friends. I am going to buy something special
for my cat who is named Cat Alog.
I would
love to answer more questions about me --- and my world, please
send me e-mail at Booker
